National Massage Therapy Awareness Week

October 25-31st is National Massage Therapy Awareness Week
I would like to get some events going for this week and help promote massage awareness in our community. The group did an event last year with Habitat for Humanity that went well. I would like to get together prior to October with anyone interested, possibly at our September meet and greet to start planning some events. We could team up with a local hospital, The Tri-City Cancer Center or even do an on site event at somewhere like CBC or WSU on campus for students back at school. Let me know if you have any ideas or would like to get involved so I can make a contact list. I would love to get a few press releases out there and some media coverage to get people involved!

Time: 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Lunch 12:00- 1:00

10 Min-Introductions
50 Min- Intro to Insurance- Terminology, Major Companies and Types of Insurance
10 Min- BREAK
50 Min- Detailed break down, explanation and of types of insurance (Auto, L&I, PPO etc)
50 Min- Credentialing- Contracts, Paperwork & Terminology
20 Min- BREAK
50 Min- Intro to Billing

1 Hour- LUNCH

50 Min- Insurance Verification/ Understanding Benefits
50 Min- Claim Form Overview
20 Min- BREAK
50 Min- Payments, EOBS
50 Min- Summary + Question & Answer

Supplies: Bring a pen or pencil and paper to take notes. Wear something comfortable….this is a long class with a lot of information to cover! We will have a lunch break but if you wish to have lunch at the school, you are welcome to bring one, otherwise there are several restaurants within minutes of the school.
